Russ Whitney Review – Are Their Courses Worth The Money? We thought we would be well placed to give you a comprehensive Russ Whitney review, since we went on their 3 day property education workshop back in 2004. To start this Russ Whitney review off, let us say that there is sometimes a lot of controversy around some of the techniques that are taught at Russ Whitney. We have read on a few forums, even forums we recommend highly on this site, that their way of doing things is very risky. Especially when they talk about using credit card finance as a way of funding property purchases. The bottom line in our opinion is that, yes some of the techniques if not done properly, can be very dangerous and financially risky. However, the way that it was taught on the Russ Whitney course we went on was in such a way that it took a large part of the risk out of it, and it was therefore no more risky than any other property investment. Property investing in general is a risky business, we are talking about huge sums of money, and if things go wrong with even one investment, in the early days, then you could be facing bankruptcy. So inherently, the risks are there and some people don’t follow the rules and they end up making mistakes. That doesn’t mean that it is the fault of the teacher. The teacher can’t control how a student uses what he learns. Alright that is enough of that, lets get down to business, and down to an indepth Russ Whitney Review! We think we paid about £2,500 back in 2004 to attend the 3 day property education workshop. On this course we received lots of information about how to source, finance and manage property. The information was fast moving and reasonably comprehensive. Was it Worth The Price? The answer to that is a resounding YES – but only if you are a novice and are prepared to put into practise what you have been taught. Don’t delay after the course, instead, put it into practise straight away. If you are new to making money from property, like we were, then this will open your eyes to the possibilities. If you have been around for a while then the 3 day course is probably not for you. Let us make something crystal clear before we go on with the rest of this Russ Whitney review
What Was The Best Thing About The Training? When we decided to get into property investing we took the time to attend a few different free seminars and workshops. Including Inside Track, Russ Whitney and some other less well known ones, what stood out to us about the Russ Whitney training is that they are all about teaching you how to do it yourself. Most of the free workshops and seminars emphasised the supposed great returns you would get from buying the properties off them. These were mainly off plan properties. Inside Track talked a little about how it would educate you so that you could go out and do it yourself.
However, they didn’t fill us with confidence and we left thinking that if we signed up with them that after a year we would still be none the wiser about how be a successful property investor and that we would be relying totally on their expertise. This was not a situation we wanted to be in. We wanted to be taught how to be self sufficient. The free Russ Whitney seminar we went to was the only one that filled us with the confidence that they would teach us everything we need to know about how to buy investment property successfully ourselves, without having to rely on them for the rest of our life. The person that led the 3 day training was Kevin Green. He was fantastic and made the whole training come to life. He was definitely one of the highlights of the 3 day event because he made it fun and light hearted, but deadly serious about making money at the same time. Anything Negative? Yes, there certainly was a couple of negative points that rubbed us up the wrong way at the time.
What Did We Find Most Helpful About The Course? Well, we think the course in general gave us a solid foundation to build on. But the most helpful thing we found and one of the reasons this is a positive Russ Whitney review is that when we did the course they provided attendees with a free lifetime 0800 number that you can contact for advice and help. This number is only given to paid students, so know one else has access to it. This free 0800 number gave us a list of good solicitors, mortgage brokers and accountants to get us started on building my power team. This was invaluable information as they where all used to dealing with investors and had all been vetted in some way by other Russ Whitney students or the team at Russ Whitney. We have not come across another training organisation that offers a free lifetime 0800 number. Even if we never buy another course off them again we will always have access to this number. This number can be a life line for the beginner and exactly what they need to kick them into gear. However, if you are looking at courses with Russ Whitney now, you will need to verify with them for yourself that they still offer this freephone number. Overall How Would We Rate Russ Whitney as a Training Organisation? Overall we have had mainly positive experiences with the Russ Whitney team. Even though now in hindsight we know that we could have learnt virtually everything we did on the 3 day course, for free or for a fraction of the price by just doing some research. However, it might have taken us hours and hours and months and months of research and we would not have had access to their free phone number, to give us a helpful hand whenever we needed it. Overall, for a beginner, this was a very positive experience. If you are more experienced then you should probably veer away from their basic 3 day training. They do do lots of other training courses for the more advanced person, but we can't vouch for those as we haven't been on them. We have heard a few negative things about the more advanced courses, but that is just hear say. Ask around on any popular investment property forum for more input on the more advance course. If we was starting again today we probably wouldn't start with the Russ Whitney course as there are other less expensive courses and ways to get the knowledge and training. But in general if you have the money, you wouldn't be going far wrong with a Russ Whitney course. But if you want to do things cheaper then have a look through our UK investment property website and get ideas and look at some of the other reviews. Plus don't forget to ask for advice on some of the property forums we recommend.
